While the Abia State Government has now confirmed the receipt of $115 million, as against the $125 million earlier reported, we acknowledge this clarification. The difference in figures is understood to arise from the phased disbursement of the AfDB facility, We, however, emphasize that this minor variance does not in any way diminish the accuracy or significance of our initial report.

It is important to note that the $115 million in question was received over four months ago. Yet, true to form, the Abia State Government chose to conceal this development from the people of Abia State. Transparency should be the hallmark of responsible governance, not secrecy.

It is particularly disturbing that the Special Adviser to the Governor on Donor Agencies attempted to downplay the development by claiming that the funds were meant merely for โ€œlogisticsโ€ rather than projects. Such a claim not only insults the intelligence of Abians but also reinforces widespread fears of mismanagement and possible diversion of funds meant for critical infrastructure.

We recall the unfortunate circumstances surrounding the removal of the late RAAMP Coordinator, Engr. Ogbonnia, who reportedly resisted undue interference by the state government in project implementation. His ordeal and subsequent death remain a painful reminder of how principled public servants are often victimized for standing by the truth.

Abians must therefore be vigilant. The $115 million now received represents part of the total $263.8 million AfDB loan facility, It is imperative that these funds are used strictly for the projects for which they were approved, and not diverted for political or personal interests, as has allegedly been the case in the past.

We are also aware of the current pressure on the Commissioner for Information, whose recent statements appear to be more about job preservation than genuine clarification. His recycled talking points offer no new insight into the administrationโ€™s financial dealings or transparency.

The Abia APC Renaissance Group firmly stands by its story regarding the AfDB inflow into the Abia State Government account. We urge Abians to remain alert and to demand accountability from those entrusted with public resources.

Let it be clear: $115 million, approximately โ‚ฆ172 billion, cannot, by any stretch of reason, be described as โ€œlogisticsโ€ funding. Abians deserve to know precisely how these funds are being utilized.

Signed,
