Peace FC of Awka on Thursday, 25th September, 2025 defeated De Wilson FC by two unreplied goals to emerge champions in the grand finale of the two-day maiden edition of the 2025 Ada Anambra Cup held on Thursday, 25th September, 2025 at the Awka City Stadium, Anambra State.

Goals from Lucion Eze and Chukwuebuka Okechukwu in the 16th and 18th minute of a pulsating game would ensure that Peace FC claim the star prize of N200,000 by the sponsor while De Wilson FC settled for the second prize of N100,000.

Peace FC Goalkeeper, Felix Agbada Mudiaga emerged as the Best shot stopper of the competition, the Most Valuable player gong was claimed by Chimezirim Ejikeme of Peace FC with the highest goal scorer award claimed by Peace FC forward Ebuka Okechukwu with four goals while Olive Charles FA emerged as the best behaved team.

The competition which is an initiative of Chidimma Makuachukwu (Ada Anambra) of the Masterminds in partnership with the National Sports Commission (NSC) and Anambra State Football Association (ANSFA) is geared towards projecting the round leather game, providing a platform to showcase the numerous footballing talents in Anambra State and engaging the youths meaningfully through sports.
The two-day soccer extravaganza held from Wednesday, 24th September to Thursday, 25th September, 2025 featured eventual champions, Peace FC of Awka, De Wilson FC of Awka, Oriental FC of Awka, Olive Charles FA of Ogidi, Game Changer FC of Amansea and Angel Commodore of Abagana.

Reacting after the match, the benefactor disclosed that the football programme will be an annual event aimed at promoting the growth of football in the state, showcasing football talents and engaging the youths through sports using the instrumentality of football. Makuachukwu also informed that in subsequent editions there will be football scouts on ground to discover talents with the aim of marketing them to top clubs in the globe.
The MD/CEO of the Masterminds disclosed that subsequent editions of the competition will also factor in female football clubs in the state as Anambra has a plethora of top professional teams playing in the mainstream leagues of Nigerian Women football league. She thanked the NSC, ANSFA, participating teams and fans for their support towards the success of the competition.

Also speaking, Chairman of Peace FC, Engr. Ifunanya Nwangwu thanked Ada Anambra for the initiative describing it as reassuring for football development in the state. The football administrator stated that the NLO club in poised in its quest of playing at the toppest echelons of Nigerian club football. On his part, Captain of Peace FC, Stanley Ekwo stated that the win for his team is remarkable as it's the first official trophy and medals in his trophy cabinet.

Highlights of the final match were the ceremonial kickoff by the sponsor, presentation of trophies, awards, medals and cash prizes for the different category of winners.
