Today, history was made in the heart of the Southeast. Alongside other distinguished leaders and stakeholders from across the nation, we had the singular honour of receiving His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for the commissioning of key infrastructure projects completed by Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo in Anambra State.

This moment was more than ceremonial, it was symbolic. It represented a convergence of visionary leadership, purposeful governance, and a renewed sense of unity for the Southeast. As we walked through the freshly commissioned roads and inspected the newly completed projects, I was reminded of the boundless potential our region holds when leaders rise above politics to pursue development anchored in the people’s welfare.

I must commend Governor Soludo for his unwavering commitment to infrastructural advancement. His efforts speak to a deeper conviction that public service is not a platform for self-glorification but a sacred responsibility to transform lives. In his stewardship, we are witnessing what is possible when intellect, discipline, and purpose intersect.

President Tinubu’s presence today further underscores his administration’s dedication to inclusive governance. The Southeast is not an appendage to Nigeria’s development story, it is a key protagonist.

The President’s decision to personally honour this occasion sends a clear message: that our region matters, our progress is national progress, and our voices will always find space at the highest levels of government.

The projects commissioned today are not just physical structures; they are monuments to hope. They are reminders that from Umuahia to Awka, from Enugu to Abakele. a new Southeast is rising, one driven by collaboration, not conflict; by performance, not propaganda.

As the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, I reaffirm my commitment to ensuring that the federal legislature continues to support the aspirations of our people. Our democracy thrives when all regions are seen, heard, and empowered. The Southeast must not only be part of Nigeria’s future, we must help shape it.

Let this day serve as a call to action for leaders across the geopolitical zone: let us amplify the example set in Anambra. Let us invest in infrastructure, deepen intergovernmental collaboration, and build bridges, both literal and metaphorical, that connect our people to opportunities.

Indeed, this is the time for us to speak the language of progress with one voice. Nigeria is watching. History is recording. And the Southeast is rising.
God bless Anambra State.
God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
