In a remarkable demonstration of forward-looking leadership and strategic inclusion, the Association of Diaspora Political Parties Members (ADPPM) has formally applauded the Chairman of the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC), Dr. Yusuf Mamman Dantalle, for his unwavering commitment to fostering meaningful collaboration between Nigeria’s political establishment and its vast diaspora constituency.

Leading the ADPPM global delegation during a high-level courtesy visit, Hon. Kenneth Chibuogwu Gbandi, former Continental Chairman of the Nigerians in Diaspora Organization Europe (NIDOE), described the engagement as both symbolic and strategic. “This visit was more than a courtesy, it was a conscious affirmation of our shared commitment to a new era of global Nigerian political participation,” he noted. “Dr. Dantalle’s openness to structured diaspora engagement reflects a rare political foresight necessary for harnessing Nigeria’s full democratic potential.”

Hon. Gbandi emphasized the critical importance of institutional partnerships in actualizing the political rights and responsibilities of Nigerians living abroad. He commended IPAC’s bold advocacy, under Dr. Dantalle’s stewardship, for legislative reforms, particularly the Council’s support for the immediate passage of the bill proposing 74 constitutionally guaranteed seats for women in the National Assembly. “We are encouraged by the Council’s proactive stance on gender inclusion and optimistic that similar consideration will be extended to the Nigerian Diaspora in due course,” he added.

As part of the strategic engagement, Gbandi unveiled a groundbreaking initiative: the upcoming soft launch of a continent-wide, diaspora-led political engagement platform. The platform, he explained, aims to institutionalize structured dialogue and collaboration between diaspora stakeholders and national political institutions. He extended a formal invitation to the IPAC leadership to participate in the launch, stressing the importance of IPAC’s presence in shaping the platform’s foundational vision.

In his response, Dr. Yusuf Mamman Dantalle warmly welcomed the ADPPM delegation, describing the meeting as “historic, timely, and necessary.” He reaffirmed IPAC’s commitment to inclusive governance and pledged the Council’s full support toward the formal integration of ADPPM as IPAC’s official Diaspora engagement arm.

Dr. Dantalle further underscored the imperative of unifying the voices of Nigerians at home and abroad in the campaign for Diaspora Voting Rights and the creation of Special Diaspora Representation in Nigeria’s political architecture. “The Nigerian Diaspora is not just a demographic, it is a dynamic political force,” he stated. “IPAC is committed to ensuring that every Nigerian, regardless of geography, is afforded a voice in shaping our national destiny.”

The strategic meeting was attended by key stakeholders including:

– Hon. Kenneth Chibuogwu Gbandi, Global Leader of ADPPM

– Ms. Merit Edeki, Nigerian Liaison Officer

– Engr. Adetunji Anthony Adeleke, Global Deputy Chairman and Chair, Americas (represented by Taiwo Adekanye, Executive Producer, Diaspora Peoples Assembly)

– Alhaji Ibrahim Suleiman, National Financial Secretary of IPAC

– Dr. Yusuf Mamman Dantalle, Chairman, Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC)

This landmark engagement signals a paradigm shift in Nigeria’s political landscape, where diaspora participation is not merely acknowledged but strategically institutionalized. As the nation looks toward the 2027 general elections and beyond, the emerging synergy between IPAC and ADPPM underscores a powerful message: that Nigeria’s democratic future is global, inclusive, and unbounded by geography.
