The All Progressives Congress (APC) Global Ambassadors rising from a meeting held in Frankfurt Germany on Sunday the 14.09.2025, are sounding a clarion call to Nigerians in Diaspora: this is the moment to rise and actively shape the destiny of our nation through voter mobilization.

As proud sons and daughters of Nigeria scattered across the globe, our impact back home is undeniable. Every year, Nigerians in Diaspora remit billions of dollars into our economy. These remittances, according to global financial reports, have helped to sustain countless families, reduce the pressures of unemployment, support education, provide healthcare, and even fund small businesses. In truth, Diaspora Nigerians have been the silent lifeline of our nation, carrying a burden that successive governments have openly acknowledged.

But money alone cannot secure the Nigeria of our dreams. Economic influence must now translate into political influence.

The Power of Diaspora Nigerians

APC Global Ambassadors firmly believe that Nigerians in Diaspora, who already wield extraordinary influence over the lives of their families and communities back home, must deploy that same influence to strengthen democratic participation.

  • When your brother calls you for assistance, you answer.

  • When your sister needs support for her children’s school fees, you provide.

  • When your aged parents need medical care, you send the money.

In the same way, you must now persuade and guide your relatives, friends, and associates at home to step out and register for their Permanent Voter’s Card (PVC), or transfer their existing voter card to their current location of residence.

Your remittances keep the light of survival burning, but your political persuasion can help light the lamp of transformation.

Democracy Demands Participation

No matter how robust policies are, no matter how visionary leadership may be, democracy will remain a hollow promise without voter participation. The PVC is not just a card; it is the key to Nigeria’s political rebirth. Every Nigerian who fails to register or transfer their PVC effectively denies themselves a voice in shaping the nation’s future.

The APC Global Ambassadors are therefore urging Nigerians abroad to take up this cause as a sacred duty. Influence your people at home to do the following:

  1. Register immediately for their PVC if they have never done so.

  2. Transfer their voter card if they have changed location, ensuring they can vote where they reside.

  3. Educate others in their community on the importance of active political participation.

The Role of Diaspora in Nation-Building

Diaspora Nigerians are not just financial contributors; they are nation-builders in absentia. Their exposure to developed systems of governance, infrastructure, and accountability gives them a unique perspective. They have seen what works in other nations and understand the value of civic responsibility.

Now is the time to replicate that spirit at home—by inspiring our people to see voting not as a burden, but as a patriotic duty. Just as you support them with remittances, support them with knowledge, motivation, and encouragement to embrace their role in democracy.

A Call to Action

The APC Global Ambassadors reiterate: Nigerians in Diaspora must go beyond the comfort of sending money and extend their influence to shaping political outcomes. Every registered voter is a step toward securing the Nigeria we envision—strong, united, and prosperous.

Let us not only remit dollars. Let us remit democratic consciousness.

Let us not only finance survival. Let us finance change.

Let us not only support today. Let us secure tomorrow.
