Theme: “Deepening Democracy, Renewing Hope”

Distinguished Renewed Hope Partners,

Ladies and Gentlemen,

Fellow Nigerians,

Today, we gather to celebrate more than just a date on our national calendar; we celebrate the courage, resilience, and enduring spirit of a people who chose the path of freedom, fairness, and a future built on democratic values. Today, we mark Democracy Day not only as a remembrance of June 12, 1993, but as a living testament to our collective resolve to uphold justice, inclusivity, and national unity.

At Renewed Hope Partners, a democratic gathering convened by The Deputy Speaker House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu CON, we believe that democracy is not a destination, but a continuous journey—a journey of building institutions that serve the people, of empowering citizens to raise their voices, and of holding ourselves and our leaders accountable to the promise of good governance; which President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has been delivering to Nigerians since his Inauguration as the President and commander in chief of the armed forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria on 29th May, 2023.

As we reflect on the significance of this day, we are reminded of the sacrifices of those who came before us—brave Nigerians who stood tall in the face of tyranny, who believed in the power of the people’s will, and who envisioned a nation where every voice matters, and every dream has a place.

But we also acknowledge that the journey is far from over. We face challenges—from economic hardships to youth unemployment, from security threats to social inequality. Yet we face them not with despair, but with renewed hope. Because hope is not blind optimism. It is the conviction that with unity, action, and commitment, we can—and we will—build the Nigeria we all desire.

Renewed Hope Partners is committed to working with communities, institutions, and leaders to ensure that democracy delivers—not just in speeches or symbols, but in real, measurable change. We advocate for participatory governance, transparent leadership, inclusive development, and the full involvement of young people and women in our political and economic life.

On this Democracy Day, let us rise above division and stand for what binds us together—our shared identity as Nigerians and our shared destiny as custodians of a greater tomorrow.

Let every child know that their voice counts.

Let every market woman believe that her sweat is not in vain.

Let every young Nigerian be assured that they will not only dream, but thrive.

Together, we can move from promises to progress.

Together, we can transform potential into prosperity.

Together, we can renew hope—not just as a slogan, but as a national mission.

Thank you, and may God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
