PISE-P Commends Stakeholders for Advancing the Course of  Peace

The Peace in the South East Project (PISE-P)  commends the South-East Governors' Forum, political leaders, and stakeholders for embracing our message and working towards the release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra.

The recent news by the Governors is in tandem with what PISE-P has for long been pursuing, to ensure peace. No doubt, this is a collective effort of the entire leadership of the people of the South East, which the Benjamin Kalu's led PISE-P has been agitating for in the past months.

PISE-P appreciates the collaboration of the governors and gives them all the support to key into the PISE-P interventions amongst which is the release of Nnamdi Kanu as one of the measures to stabilize  the South Eastern region and rid it of criminal elements and have a peaceful resolution to most of the political agitations.

This development is a significant milestone in our collective pursuit of lasting peace in the southeast.  We acknowledge the concerted efforts of all parties involved and commend them for their efforts in bringing about a peaceful resolution of the crisis in the South East at  their individual and collective levels.

This is also the key objective of the PISE-P that was initiated last year by the Deputy Speaker, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu in collaboration with the South-East Legislators in the National Assembly, unveiled by the President, His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, and the South-East Governors, and is still an ongoing project.  In view of this, part of the strategies of PISE-P was to ensure that all persons who have been detained due to their political conviction are also released to create stability in the region.

The release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu will significantly contribute to reducing tensions and fostering a more conducive environment for peaceful dialogue and conflict resolution. We encourage continued collaboration and engagements among all stakeholders to address the underlying issues affecting our region.

PISE-P remains dedicated to promoting peace, understanding, and development in the southeast. We will continue to work tirelessly with stakeholders to ensure a brighter future for our people.
