THE HYPOCRISY OF POLITICIANS ON WOMEN’s DAY

The hypocrisy of politicians is so overwhelming that I struggle to find a comparison.

Everyone is loudly celebrating Women’s Day in Nigeria, yet we have fewer than five women in the National Assembly, not a single female governor, and in the Southeast, barely two women in the SEDC. And they dare to celebrate Women’s Day? What hypocrisy.

What exactly is there to celebrate when the National Assembly suspended a woman for speaking out about sexual harassment, without even opening a private investigation into her claims? How can they claim to honor women while silencing them?

Until we rise as a nation and commit to genuine honesty, progress will remain out of reach.
