The Imo State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (ISOPADEC) has announced that the AGPC ANOH Gas Processing Plant in Ohaji/Egbema, West Africa’s largest gas plant, has officially commenced full gas production in Imo State.

According to the Commission, this milestone is not only a major boost for Nigeria’s energy sector but also a turning point for the economic transformation of Imo State and the country at large. With operations now in full swing, the plant is set to increase domestic gas supply, strengthen electricity generation, and drive rapid industrial growth.

ISOPADEC noted that the development will attract new investments, create job opportunities for youths, improve infrastructure, and directly impact oil- and gas-bearing communities through targeted social and welfare programs.
The Managing Director, Chief Austin Onyedebelu, reaffirmed their commitment to ensuring inclusive growth and fostering a peaceful, productive relationship between host communities and industry stakeholders.

They described the commencement of operations as a new dawn for Imo State — one of energy-driven prosperity, empowerment, and sustainable progress.
